We got rain. Not a lot of rain. It had big drops and it pelted us for a short time. Still, we got a nice amount of rain for our desert. Probably at least 1/4 of an inch.
The air cooled from its incredibly high 100 degrees...plummeting to 90 degrees...as the sun went down, it went even a bit cooler. Such a nice break from the heat wave we have been experiencing for the last week or two.
I live on a sea of sand and alkali patches, in a barren desert, at the far end of a small sprawling community in Northern Nevada. Desolate, wind swept country. This is my hard won slice of paradise. Against all odds, I cultivate trees, flowers, vegetables, peace and contentment. This is my garden in the sun.

Do it!
Time to start doing a bit of blogging again. The weather is lovely and I have photos of the new projects that have been completed this spring. Hope my fellow gardeners and mini horse lovers will be showing up:)
